The reason for a bigger putter grip is comfort, improved feel and keeping the wrists out of the swing. This in turn stops the hands and wrists making a flicking movement which has come to be known as the “yips“.

The problem with many jumbo sized putter grips is that they add a large amount of weight to the putter (typically 150 grams to 170 grams).
